Summary of important information on this page
To be a buddy, you must:
- Attend mandatory training during the daytime on Saturday, August 8.
- Sign the buddy contract to be officially registered as a buddy.
- Be admitted as a student at Kristiania for the autumn semester 2026.
If you are applying as a group:
- The person applying on behalf of the group automatically becomes the group leader. You should therefore agree in advance who will take on this role.
- There are normally a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 buddies per group. If you are more than 5 people who want to be in the same group, you must apply as multiple groups.
If you are applying individually:
- We encourage all individual applicants to first check if there are existing buddy groups they can join.
- Individual buddies who have not found a group themselves will be assigned to a group by the buddy committee.
Groups and number of participants:
- Group leaders from each school and the Vocational School are responsible for distributing participants among the groups. They will receive training for this.
- The student lists are available the week before Into Campus, and the groups will be finalized as soon as the group leaders are able to assign participants.
- Buddy groups will be offered for all programs that have confirmed buddies.

Who leads the buddy program?
All buddy groups from all study programs, both at the University College and the Vocational School, are led by the Student Union’s Into Campus committee. Within the committee, there are dedicated buddy coordinators who ensure that buddies receive information, respond to inquiries, and organize dedicated buddy events. This means that all groups are organized under one student organization, rather than having separate buddy committees for each school.
In addition, the buddy program receives follow-up and administrative support through the Student Life team at Kristiania (studieliv@kristiania.no).
Is it true that some programs do not have buddy groups?
No, this is not really true. All study programs are part of the buddy program, and no one is “excluded” from having buddy groups. Whether a program has a buddy group or not depends entirely on whether students in that program sign up to be buddies. If you did not have a buddy group when you started studying at Kristiania, it is most likely because no one from your program signed up to be buddies.
Hva kan du forvente når du er fadder?
As a buddy, you are a volunteer student who helps new students in your study program get to know the school and other new students. To become a buddy, you simply need to use the application form found at the top of this page. We recommend talking with friends and fellow students to plan being in a group together.
As a buddy, your role is to ensure that the new students in your group are doing well and that they show up at the right place at the right time to take part in the activities. The Student Union and Kristiania organize a joint program for the entire buddy week, and your group can also plan simple activities that you would like to include the new students in.
