Teaching and Learning Platform and Delivery of Instruction
The One-Year Programme in Nutrition and Health is delivered through Kristiania’s learning platform, where students have the opportunity to:

create a personal profile
plan and organise their studies by setting personal submission deadlines
make themselves available for collaboration
receive follow-up from a supervisor who reads and comments on submitted assignments
stay updated on the progress and activities of other students
receive shared messages from supervisors and fellow students
participate in academic forums, ask questions, or contact the supervisor directly
access library services
watch video lectures
review previous examination papers
complete practice exercises
submit compulsory coursework and examination assignments

Once admitted to one or more courses, students gain access to the relevant online courses in the learning platform. Each course includes guidance texts, recorded material, practice exercises, and submission assignments. Each course provides recommendations regarding time allocation for the different modules and the order in which they should be completed. All academic content refers to the required reading, provides supplementary commentary on the syllabus, and, where relevant, additional perspectives and critical discussion of the course literature. Each course includes a range of practice exercises designed to help students assess their own progress and determine whether the intended learning outcomes have been achieved.

Each course is divided into modules consisting of various recorded materials, guidance texts, and other learning resources. The video materials vary in number, type, and length depending on the topic. Each course includes compulsory coursework that must be approved before the student is allowed to sit the examination. Examples of compulsory coursework include written assignments, multiple-choice tests, reflection notes, video documentation, as well as experiments, practical exercises, or other activities followed by a written report. Supervisors provide feedback on submitted coursework with the aim of strengthening both the academic content and the student’s academic skills. In addition to these learning activities, students are expected to engage in independent study, including preparation for and follow-up work related to the lectures.

Kristiania encourages students to find peers to collaborate with, but online students are free to choose whether they wish to study independently. Collaboration provides opportunities to discuss academic issues and receive feedback on coursework, practice exercises, and examination assignments, thereby strengthening both subject understanding and communication skills.

The learning platform provides access to digital tools for communication with supervisors and fellow students, planning individual study progression, finding collaboration partners, and easily contacting administrative support staff who work specifically with online studies.

Assessment and Examination Methods
Throughout the programme, several different assessment and examination methods are used. The assessment methods are aligned with the intended learning outcomes of each course, while also ensuring a balanced distribution of different types of examinations across each semester. The assessment methods are designed to promote student responsibility and engagement. As a result, a variety of assessment forms are used, tailored to the nature of each course and providing students with different types of academic challenges.

In the One-Year Programme in Nutrition and Health, assessment methods include take-home written examinations, written three-hour examinations, and other examination formats adapted to online studies.

All courses include compulsory coursework that must be completed in order to be eligible for examination. Admission to the examination requires approved compulsory coursework. The scope and schedule of compulsory coursework are specified in the course descriptions. Compulsory coursework is assessed on a pass/fail basis.

For details on the assessment format for each individual course, please refer to the most recently updated course descriptions. For further information regarding examinations, see Kristiania’s website.
