Re-scheduled and re-sit exam

See “Regulations related to admission, studies, degrees and examinations at Kristiania”, section 4-1: Examination forms and dates of examinations, part 3.

Active students register via StudentWeb, and registration is binding when the deadline has passed. Examination dates for the re-sit exam will be available in your StudentWeb when you register for a re-sit exam.

Syllabus for re-sit exams

The first time you take a re-sit exam, the same syllabus applies as for the ordinary exam. It is your responsibility to find out the basis for assessment that applies when you register for a re-sit exam in a course.

Registration to and withdrawal from re-scheduled and re-sit exams

The registration/withdrawal deadline for re-sit examination is as follows:

  • 11 January – 1 February for autumn courses
  • 19 June – 10 July for spring courses
  • 10 September – 1 October for master’s theses

Exam dates for re-sit exams will be available in your StudentWeb when you register for a re-sit exam. The deadline for registration and withdrawal is independent of ongoing appeals.

NOTE! When registering for the re-sit exam, you are registered for the entire course, and not just one exam. The instructions explain how to register for the exam and how to withdraw from a part exam, if you don’t want to take the exam in a chosen course.

Former student

Former students register for re-sit exams using the following form. The form is only for former students. You will find the registration in your StudentWeb within two working days after the examination office has received your order.

Times for re-sit exams

Kristiania University College has two scheduled re-sit weeks (deferred) per year.

Re-sit exams for autumn courses are in weeks 8 and 9 with associated weekends. Re-sit exams for spring courses are in weeks 32 and 33 with associated weekends. Re-sit exams for courses that run both spring and autumn can be held during both re-sit weeks. Postponed master’s theses are submitted at the next ordinary submission date.

You can find information on which semester courses are held in the course description.

  • Re-scheduled and re-sit individual written examination is always a three- or five-hour written exam.
  • Re-scheduled and re-sit home exams are normally 72-hour individual home exams and are conducted on weekends associated with the re-sit week. Group home exams are completed individually, unless the course description specifies otherwise.
  • For resubmission of the same portfolio requirement as for ordinary exams, the entire portfolio must be resubmitted.
  • For resubmission of a multi-part exam, please refer to the course description.

Re-scheduled and re-sit of oral and practical examinations is held in connection with the autumn/spring re-sit week.

Repeat of compulsory activity (work requirements)

Students who do not pass compulsory course activity, are withdrawn from the exam and are themselves responsible for registering for the re-sit exam.

The re-sit exam is then considered as the first attempt at the exam. Repeat of compulsory activity is free of charge. Compulsory activity must be presented and approved within two weeks before the re-sit exam is held.

An invoice for the re-sit exam will be sent by e-mail after the re-sit week.
