Learning platform and teaching in practice
The programme of study in HR and Personnel Management is delivered as an online programme. The syllabus and requirements relating to academic level are the same as those that apply to students attending regular teaching.

Each course has an associated online course that is available via the digital learning platform. Once the student has been enrolled on one or more courses, the student will be able to access the relevant online courses via the learning platform. Each online course contains instructional texts, audio and video lectures, practice exercises and compulsory submissions. The course focuses on developing students’ ability to work independently. The teaching aims to comment on, illustrate and expand upon aspects from learning materials, as well as providing additional materials that are not available in print. The teaching will therefore form part of the syllabus. The online course also includes recommendations about how much time you should spend on the topics within a course, and information on how the different courses relate to each other, and in what order they should be taken. All academic content in the online course refers to the syllabus, provides additional comments to the syllabus, and if applicable, supplementary comments and problematisation of the syllabus literature. Each course also contains a series of practice assignments/self-assessments that will help students evaluate their progression and whether their learning objectives are being reached.

On each online course, the student is assigned an academic supervisor (online supervisor). The supervisor is normally the same academic person who has developed the academic content of the online course. The supervisor is responsible for sending welcome messages to new students, answering academic questions from students and providing academic supervision and assessment of submissions included in the course. The submitted assignments are compulsory and must be passed before the student can take the exam. In some courses, submissions may also entail mid-way evaluations that count towards the examination grade. This will be specified in individual course descriptions if applicable.

Students can choose whether they want to collaborate with other students and the learning platform provides access to digital tools that can be used to communicate with the supervisor and fellow students, plan academic progression and find relevant partners for collaboration during the online course.

Examination and assessment methods
A number of different examination and assessment methods are used throughout the programme. The assessment methods are adapted to the learning outcomes of each course. The assessment methods should reflect the desire to promote accountability amongst students. Therefore, several possible assessment methods exist that are adapted to the unique character of each course and provide students with different forms of challenges. Progression and academic level are managed through compulsory coursework requirements or submissions in each course. The scope varies, but a course worth 7.5 credits will normally include at least two substantial submissions.

A separate written examination will be organised for all courses. The examination regulations are the same as for other students at Kristiania University College but as the students are not physically present, decentralised examinations are organised in collaboration with other educational institutions and officially authorised examination providers.
