The overall learning outcomes set out what students are expected to know and be able to do upon completion of the programme. The expected learning outcomes are divided into the categories of knowledge, skills and general competence. The different courses have separate learning outcomes that underpin the overall learning outcomes of the programme.

has broad knowledge of the areas of application of psychology and how psychological theory is applied in practice in different types of work at individual, group and societal level
has broad knowledge of central theories, issues and concepts from social psychology, personality psychology, developmental psychology and cognitive psychology
has broad knowledge of ethics, research methodology concepts, research design, methods for data analysis and interpretation of research results in psychology
has broad knowledge of how psychology can be applied to influence cognition, emotions and behaviour
has knowledge of research and development work within psychology
is able to update their knowledge through national and international research and development work, as well as through academic venues to contribute to academic discourse
has knowledge of scientific methods and ethical foundations
has knowledge of the historical development of the field, the various perspectives that have contributed to shaping psychology and the place and role of psychology in society

Skills
The candidate

is able to apply academic concepts, forms of expression and various psychological perspectives in the analysis and description of human phenomena
is able to apply and discuss relevant research and development work in psychology, including making justified choices when working with academic issues
is able to propose measures and interventions based on psychological theory and empirical data for the purpose of promoting good psychological practices in relevant work and influencing design and messaging
is able to apply psychological knowledge to relevant practical and theoretical issues
is able to apply acquired knowledge for the practical implementation of psychology and reflect upon the relevance of such knowledge in relation to the demands of working life
