The overall learning outcomes set out what students are expected to know and be able to do upon completion of the programme. The expected learning outcomes are divided into the categories of knowledge, skills and general competence. The different courses have separate learning outcomes that underpin the overall learning outcomes of the programme.

Knowledge
The candidate

will have knowledge of central theories, problems and concepts from social psychology, personality psychology and developmental psychology, as well as psychological factors that influence human development and behaviour
will have broad knowledge of ethics, research methodology concepts, research design, methods for data analysis and interpretation of research results in psychology
will be able to update their knowledge through national and international research and development, as well as through academic arenas, in order to contribute to academic discourse
will have knowledge of historical developments in the field, the different perspectives that have helped shape psychology and the place and role of psychology in society

Skills
The candidate

will be able to apply academic concepts, forms of expression and various psychological perspectives in the analysis and description of human phenomena
will be able to apply and discuss relevant research and development work in psychology, including making reasoned choices when working on relevant challenges
will be able to reflect upon their own academic performance and adjust their performance in accordance with feedback and academic supervision
will be able to identify, critically evaluate and refer to varied academic materials and information and use these to investigate issues in the field of psychology
will be proficient in different methods, techniques and tools relating to social, personality and developmental psychology

General competence
The candidate

will have knowledge of research and professional ethics issues and will be prepared to consider ethical dilemmas
will be able to plan, implement and complete assignments relating to the field of psychology
will be able to exchange views and experiences with others with a background in psychology and participate in discussions on the development of good practice
will be able to communicate key subject matter, challenges and results relating to psychology
