Cloud Security
This free course equips you with valuable skills for securely orchestrating and implementing modern cloud services. Enrollment is limited!
As businesses increasingly migrate critical data and services to the cloud, new vulnerabilities may emerge, heightening the risk for data breaches and cyberattacks. This course teaches you how to plan, install, and configure cloud-based solutions with security as a fundamental principle throughout the entire process. You will gain valuable insights into addressing real-world security challenges faced by today's IT professionals, including configuring Web Application Firewalls and integrating with SIEM tools.
The course combines technical in-depth knowledge with practical exercises on modern cloud platforms. You will gain insight into the differences between Cloud Native applications and Lift And Shift migrations, and how DevSecOps methodology differs from traditional product development. This expertise is in demand by employers in all industries and strengthens your position in a job market where cloud security is becoming an increasingly important component of IT infrastructure.
This course is designed to be compatible with your work and private life. It’s an online course featuring instructional videos, practical exercises, and mandatory assignments that you will receive personal feedback on. The textbooks are in English, while other materials, such as videos and exercises, are available in both Norwegian and English.
Admission, Start, and Completion
To take the course, you need general university admission qualifications, but it is also recommended that you have a good basic knowledge of information security, equivalent to Kristiania's «Information Security» course. The course is free for students who are admitted, thanks to funding from The Directorate for Higher Education and Skills / the industry program for the ICT sector. You must purchase the textbooks yourself (one book can be downloaded for free but requires registration with the Cloud Security Alliance). Note that the program has limited capacity. The applicants who first submit the necessary documentation will be admitted. The course starts on August 20, 2025, but the start may be postponed if there is low enrollment.
Learning outcomes
