Ongoing Projects
Phygital Lab integrates research and artistic development with concrete, practice-based projects in collaboration with leading actors in the cultural sector. Our approach is experimental and grounded in real-world needs and challenges.
Among our key projects in 2025 is the exhibition design for the Intercultural Museum (Kampen om Grønland 2.0), where we combined poetry, interactive projection, and scenography to create an immersive experience.
We also play a central role in the national initiative Carving out a Space, which has received NOK 2.7 million in funding from the Norwegian Arts and Culture Council (project allocations). Carving out a Space constitutes a national, cross-sectoral, and interdisciplinary arena where academia and the museum sector collaborate to explore new methods of knowledge dissemination—across modes of communication, disciplines, and institutions. The project aims to ensure that diverse voices, participatory practices, and multiple perspectives are integrated into exhibition-making and public engagement within Norwegian museums.
Phygital Lab’s primary contribution to Carving out a Space is the exploration and development of innovative exhibition experiences, using folk museums as a contextual and conceptual framework. Our vision is to investigate the interplay between architecture, spatial design, scenography, artificial intelligence, technological innovation, narrative structures, and audience participation.
