Background

Mari Klingen is an assistant professor at The Norwegian College of Musical Theatre, Kristiania University College where she teaches voice and various music theory courses.
Klingen is also a composer, lyricist, arranger, producer and musician who runs her own record company, and has released several albums as both a recording artist and a producer. Her releases include both solo albums and recordings with various ensembles. She has toured Norway extensively as both a solo act and with bands, as well as writing and performing for Kulturtanken/Arts for Young Audiences

Together with Carina Frantzen, Klingen started Norway’s first and only podcast on vocals. Vokal til folket deals with all matters of singing and voice, looks at vocal techniques, genres and voice-related problems. It also dives deep into methods of vocal coaching and looks at the artistic expressions of different singers.
