Background

Katja Bjørneboe is associate professor at Kristiania University Collage, department of dance and teaches classical ballet, functional anatomy, physiology, injury prevention, Pilates and yoga.

Bjørneboe has had an international carrier as ballet dancer and has performed in a large variety of classical, neo-classical and contemporary repertoire both as soloist and in the corps de ballet. She has danced in companies such as Feld Ballet New York, Alberta Ballet Canada, Basel Ballet Switzerland and Malmö Stadsteater Sweden.

She has worked with recognized choreographers such as Eliot Feld, Birgit Cullberg and Heinz Spöerli. She holds a master’s degree in dance science from the University of Bern in Switzerland. Bjørneboe’s research concerns talent development, motor learning and training, attentional focus, and injury prevention in dance.
