Anne Klenge

Anne Klenge is a PhD Candidate at Kristiania. Her research investigates the strategic communication and framing strategies employed by the Norwegian climate movement to contest the "Norwegian climate paradox." Positioned at the intersection of social movement research and strategic communication, her doctoral project explores how activist groups, grassroots organizations or environmental NGOs construct counter-narratives to challenge the legitimacy of continued fossil fuel production in a resource-rich democracy. Utilizing mixed methods, her current work analyzes how these counter-hegemonic networks adapt their communication to expose the contradictions between Norway's role as a global climate leader and its domestic petroleum industry, particularly against the backdrop of shifting global crises.
