Library Course: Academic Reading and Writing

Do you find it difficult to get started with assignment writing? Not sure where to begin? Wondering what you should read to get started? Then this course on academic reading and writing is for you!

Academic reading and writing can be challenging when you have little or no prior experience with it. 

After completing this course, you will have learned:

  • How to get started with academic reading
  • Techniques for skimming and close reading
  • How to identify the most important information in a text and distinguish it from less relevant content
  • How to structure your own assignments and academic texts
  • How to formulate a research question
  • The difference between description, discussion, and argumentation in academic writing

The course will be held on campus in Oslo and online for students in Bergen and online students.
