Learning platform and teaching in practice
The Bachelor in Economics and Administration – specialisation in accounting is structured as an online programme. The syllabus and academic requirements are the same as for students who follow equivalent courses on campus.

Each course on the programme has an associated online course on the Kristiania University College online programme learning platform (LMS). Once the student has been enrolled on one or more courses, the student will be able to access the relevant online courses via the learning platform. Each online course contains instructional texts, video lectures, practice assignments and compulsory submission assignments. The online course also includes recommendations about how much time you should spend on the topics within a course, and information on how the different courses relate to each other, and in what order they should be taken. All academic content in the online course refers to the syllabus, provides additional comments to the syllabus, and if applicable, supplementary comments and problematisation of the syllabus literature. Each course will also include a number of exercises/self-tests, as well as previous examinations with associated answers. Video lectures have also been created to provide additional help. This should help students to assess their own progression and whether the learning objectives have been met.

On each online course, the student is assigned an academic supervisor (online supervisor). The academic supervisor is the same academic person who has developed the academic content of the online course. The supervisor is responsible for sending welcome messages to new students, answering academic questions from students and providing academic supervision and assessment of submissions included in the course. Submitted assignments are compulsory and must be submitted and approved no later than ten working days before the examination date.

Students can choose whether they want to collaborate with other students and the learning platform provides access to digital tools that can be used to communicate with the supervisor and fellow students, plan academic progression and find relevant partners for collaboration during the online course. This does not apply to submissions, which must be produced independently by individual students.

Examination and assessment methods
A number of different examination and assessment methods are used throughout the programme. The assessment methods are adapted to the learning outcomes of the individual course; at the same time we strive for an appropriate distribution of contrasting examination methods in each semester of the course. The assessment methods should reflect the desire to promote accountability amongst students. We therefore apply various assessment methods that are adapted to the uniqueness of each course and challenge students in various ways, both individually and in groups.

All courses include compulsory coursework requirements (submissions). Coursework requirements are those which students must fulfil in order to be admitted to the examination. The scope varies, but a course worth 7.5 credits will normally include at least two substantial submissions. The number of submissions increases for more extensive courses. Entrance to the examination is conditional upon meeting certain coursework requirements. The scope of and plan for coursework requirements are specified in the course descriptions.
