    Description

The drive for Norwegian university colleges to expand and achieve university-status has manifold implications. Relevant for this application are increased focus on quality, evidence-based teaching practices (Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, SoTL), in parallel with sharpened research requirements for Higher Education (HE) teachers. At the same time, the increasing number of academic staff entering careers in HE via other routes than PhDs, and the “academization” of traditionally professional and artistic subjects further underline the need for increased understanding of this problem space. With the end-goal of a successful NFR FRIPRO application that will provide evidence-based interventions to support the heterogeneous pool of academic staff tasked with helping students to gain knowledge, skills and competence for a challenging future, this project focuses on critical source evaluation and use of educational research literature in HE teachers.
