The event brings together global experts to explore how digital technologies can shape a smarter, more inclusive future.

Kristiania University College is one of three academic partners behind the 33rd edition of the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), taking place in Amman, Jordan, from June 12–18, 2025. Widely regarded as one of Europe’s most prominent gatherings for the information systems research community, ECIS 2025 focuses on the theme “Co-Creating Value for an Intelligent Future.”

Exploring critical topics

The conference emphasizes collaboration between humans and technology to drive progress in research, industry, and society. This year’s program features a broad array of contributions covering topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainable tech innovation, digital transformation in the public sector, and the use of information systems to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

Participants will also explore key global challenges, including the ethical use of technology, data privacy, and the changing nature of work in the digital age.

Kristiania in leading role

Kristiania plays a key role in the organization of ECIS 2025. Associate Professor Ahmad Ghazawneh serves as Conference Co-Chair, one of the conference’s top leadership roles. Associate Professor Moutaz Haddara also contributes significantly as Panels Co-Chair.

– Our ambition for ECIS 2025 is to create impactful conversations among scholars, professionals, and technologists. By co-developing knowledge across disciplines and cultural boundaries, we can build intelligent systems that truly benefit society, Ghazawneh says.

International collaboration at the core

Kristiania is co-hosting the conference alongside Applied Science University (Jordan) and Halmstad University (Sweden). Together, the institutions are responsible for curating the academic content, managing logistics, and coordinating communications.

ECIS annually attracts hundreds of participants from both academia and industry. The conference is a key platform for advancing research-based insights into how digital technologies can help solve real-world challenges.
