Background

Arild Fetveit is a media researcher at Kristiania University College. He is currently leading the research project PhotoFake – Visual Disinformation, the Digital Economy and the Epistemology of the Camera Image.

His research interests mainly concern media aesthetics, particularly photographic mediality. He has also published in the fields of reception studies, convergence, medium-specific noise, music video, uncanny mediality, the digitization of film and photography as well as on how digitization has affected business models for legacy media. His writing has appeared, among other places, in Screen, MediaCulture and SocietyInternational Journal of Cultural Studies, and NECSUS.
