Background
Håkon Njøten is a university lecturer at Kristiania University College, where he teaches self-leadership, including Norway’s most popular course in the field: Meaning and Mastery in Working Life. He is the author of the academic books Hvorfor kjører pappa Porsche (Why Does Dad Drive a Porsche) and Mening og mestring i arbeidslivet (Meaning and Mastery in Working Life), and hosts the podcast Deep Self-Leadership. His work has been featured in Morgenbladet and other media outlets.
Håkon holds a Master’s degree in Music Business Management (Leadership) from the University of Westminster, a postgraduate certificate in Higher Education Pedagogy from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, and is a certified yoga teacher. His research focuses on how teaching self-leadership can enhance people’s sense of meaning and mastery, both in work and in life. His passion is rooted in personal experience: After a music career in London that did not go as planned, he embarked on an inner journey to develop himself and help others do the same.
