Background
Håkon Njøten is a University Lecturer at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences, specializing in conscious leadership, self-leadership, and mindfulness.
At Kristiania, he teaches Norway’s most popular course in personal development: Meaning and Mastery in Working Life.
He is the author of the academic books Why Does Dad Drive a Porsche? and Meaning and Mastery in Working Life, and hosts the podcast Deep Self-Leadership.
His work has recently been featured in Morgenbladet, Dagens Næringsliv, and several other media outlets.
Håkon holds a Master’s degree in Music Business Management (Leadership) from the University of Westminster, a university teaching qualification from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, and is a certified yoga teacher.
His research focuses on what he calls Core Human Competencies, and explores how education in self-leadership and soft skills can enhance the experience of meaning and mastery—both at work and in life.
