Background
Frode Søbstad is associate professor of Institute of Performing Arts, Film and Media at Kristiania University College of Applied Science
Frode Søbstad has a background as a producer and director. His films have received wide international attention, and he has won numerous awards. Søbstad was the producer of the animated feature film The Tower (Tårnet), which was named the best Norwegian animated film of the decade (2010–2020). In his artistic development work at Kristiania, Søbstad focuses particularly on the relationship between society and pedagogy. Currently on the research project One Breath – One Sea, with focus on the sea and humans. Frode is part of the research group Ecosystem, and is a member of the Cilect Sustainability group, which aims to ensure that film schools worldwide take social responsibility and transition to more sustainable productions.
